ARLINGTON, Virginia – To recognize the leadership FASTPORT and the trucking industry have shown to become First Responders in Veteran employment, the Department of Defense awarded FASTPORT with the Seven Seals Award.
FASTPORT received the honor at the recent Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Signing Ceremony where nearly 30 transportation industry leaders united to sign a Statement of Support affirming and reaffirming their commitment to employment support of the National Guard and Reserve.
FASTPORT CEO Bill McLennan accepted the award on behalf of the trucking industry supporters who have shown tireless and proactive efforts to implement effective and impactful Veteran hiring initiatives in the trucking industry.
ESGR Executive Director Alex Baird said, “The Seven Seals Award is the broadest and most inclusive award given by ESGR and is presented at the discretion of ESGR Senior Leadership. McLennan was honored for his proactive initiatives to employ Guardsmen, Reservists, transitioning service members, and Veterans in the trucking industry.”
“We are appreciative and touched by this tremendous honor,” said Bill. “While FASTPORT is named is in its physical frame, this Seven Seals Award is really a recognition from the Department of Defense that the trucking industry is dedicated and energized in its mission to hire the men and women of the National Guard and Reserve Forces.”
