FASTPORT engaged with dozens of Marines at the Hiring Our Heroes Transition Summit at Camp Pendleton to inspire them into careers in the trucking industry.
Our CEO Bill McLennan, a former U.S. Marine E-5 mortarman, personally connected with Marines as they searched for career paths to start after they transition from the military. To show service men and women the why the Trucking Track is such a useful tool, he pointed out that the mentoring program is a unique and powerful way to get your foot in the door to elite trucking companies.
“Those with military experience are hard-wired for success in trucking,” said Bill, “and the Trucking Track Mentoring Program ensures that each service member receives the attention they deserve in an application.
“No more faceless resumes submitted online. Interacting over the phone or online will help Marines get the guidance they need to make informed choices about their future careers,” Bill continued. “Importantly, that interaction also gives an invaluable networking opportunity that will make their applications stand out from the rest. That is not a benefit to take lightly.”
As the FASTPORT Team explained this often overlooked benefit to the Trucking Track, many service members were taken aback because they had not seen mentoring from that perspective before the hiring fair.
To take advantage of the Trucking Track Mentoring Program’s unique networking opportunity, military Veterans, transitioning servicemembers and spouses can request a mentor online on truckingtrack.org.
